Traffic situation on the capital’s roads as of 14 September: key indicators

🔺 The Tashkent City Traffic Organisation Centre continuously monitors traffic flow, congestion levels and public transport operations on the capital’s streets.

📊 On 14 September the academic year fully commenced for students of all levels at higher education institutions. A total of 1 466 093 vehicles moved on the capital’s roads throughout the day.
Number of vehicles moving on the capital’s roads during peak hours:
— between 07:00 and 08:00 in the morning – 254 453;
— between 18:00 and 19:00 in the evening – 306 780.

🚌 Public transport operations
On 14 September, 1 680 buses operating on 170 routes completed 22 011 trips and carried 1 500 667 passengers to their destinations.

The Tashkent Metro carried 1 165 550 passengers.
The highest passenger flows were recorded at Chinor, Sergeli, Choshtepa, Olmazor, Chilonzor, Buyuk Ipak Yo‘li, Do‘stlik and Beruniy metro stations.

🚦 Congestion situation
According to monitoring by the Situation Centre during peak hours:
In the morning between 08:00 and 09:00:
— congestion reached level 7 at 4 intersections (P. Mahmud, THAY–Beshqo‘rg‘on 3-tor, Muqimiy–Qatortol, Nukus–A. Qahhor);
— congestion exceeded level 7 at 6 intersections (Farg‘ona yo‘li, Ohangaron, Mehrjon–Sariko‘l, Gavhar–Sh. Rustaveli, Sag‘bon–Farobiy, THAY–Universitet).

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance, take into account the traffic load at these intersections during peak hours and, where necessary, use alternative routes.

Prompt measures taken
To stabilise traffic flow at congested points, traffic-light programmes were coordinated and green-signal times were extended on the required directions. Traffic police officers were also deployed at the necessary intersections to regulate traffic.

🏗 Repair works
Communal organisations carried out works on 18 streets (Labzak, S. Mashhadiy, Al-Xorazmiy, Shahriobod, Gulnora 1-tor, Sho‘rtepa, Birlashgan, Moyqo‘rg‘on, V. Vohidov, Qorasuv, A. Temur, Uzumbog‘, Qorasaroy, Muqimiy, M. Yusuf, M. Ulug‘bek, Qatortol 1-tor, Oqqo‘rg‘on) that partially affected traffic flow on the carriageways.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance taking these circumstances into account and, where necessary, to use alternative routes.

Violations recorded by the Traffic Safety Department
Control measures continue systematically on the capital’s streets in order to give priority to public transport, create safe and convenient conditions for pedestrians and strengthen compliance with traffic rules.
On 14 September the following were recorded:
— 9 cases of driving on pedestrian walkways;
— 8 cases of parking violations;
— 16 cases of stopping violations;
— 17 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol.
In addition, 18 violations related to pedestrians crossing the road in unmarked places were registered.
On 14 September three road-traffic accidents were recorded, in which one person sustained bodily injuries. No cases resulting in severe bodily injury or death were registered.

Drivers are requested not to stop vehicles on or in front of pedestrian walkways, to give way to pedestrians at designated crossing points, not to occupy bus-stop areas, not to drive in the dedicated “A” lane for public transport and not to obstruct buses entering or leaving stops.

As part of road-infrastructure renewal works:
— approximately 6 000 metres of road markings;
— 7 pedestrian crossings were renewed.

Traffic flow on the capital’s roads continues to be monitored in real time by the Situation Centre.
